Will I receive a refund for my Silver Wings membership?
A refund for the unused portion of your annual membership will be processed no later than May 31, 2007. The refund will be issued against the credit card we have on file for you and should appear on your statement within 1-2 billing cycles. If we do not have a valid credit card on file, or if you do not select another option for your refund by May 31, 2007, a check will be mailed to you for the pro-rated amount. You should receive your check on or around July 31, 2007.

If you choose an alternate refund method, such as Red Carpet Club passes, e-certificates or Mileage Plus miles, different processing times will apply. Please allow up to 12 weeks from the time the offer is processed by an agent or on the site for MileagePlus miles to appear in your account.


What happens if the credit card on file with Silver Wings is no longer active (i.e., cancelled, expired)?
A check refund will be processed if your credit card is no longer active. It will be mailed to the address on file with Silver Wings.

When will my Silver Wings benefits end?
Silver Wings Preferred benefits will be honored through June 30, 2007.


What are the Silver Wings Plus hours of operation?
Silver Wings hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm CST.


What happens to my lifetime membership if I upgraded to Silver Wings Preferred?
Your Silver Wings Lifetime membership will revert back to active status when your Silver Wings Preferred membership expires on June 30, 2007.


I upgraded my Lifetime membership to Silver Wings Preferred. Will my travel credits expire if my Silver Wings Lifetime membership remains active?
Even though your Lifetime membership remains active, your unused travel credits from your Preferred membership must be redeemed and travel completed by June 30, 2008.


When will the travel credits I earned through Silver Wings membership expire?
Your travel credits have been converted to domestic electronic certificates for use on united.com. All travel must be completed by June 30, 2008.


When will my Silver Wings Plus membership expire?
Your Silver Wings Plus membership will expire naturally at the end of its term.


How can I find out what my level of Silver Wings membership is?

What is the last day Silver Wings Preferred members can book travel through the Silver Wings Plus Travel Desk?
The Silver Wings Plus Travel Desk is accepting new bookings through June 30, 2008.


As a preferred member of Silver Wings, do I still receive double miles for my flights?
Double air miles are based on flights taken while being an active member. Silver Wings Preferred members who are active members will receive double miles for flights taken before July 1, 2007. No double miles will be awarded on or after July 1, 2007.


As a Silver Wings Preferred member, whom do I contact if I want to book travel using a travel credit?
Log in to your Silver Wings Plus account on www.silverwingsplus.com. Click the "Redeem Travel Credits" tab at the top of the page. From the "Redeem Travel Credits" page, click "Redeem" on the right side of the page to complete your transaction. Please record your e-certificate number - you will also receive an email that contains the number.

Please have your electronic certificate number available when you book travel online at united.com. Remember that to use your e-certificates, travel must be a round-trip, U.S. domestic itinerary for one passenger.

On united.com, select your travel dates and destinations. From the "Flights search" page, select "more search options" then enter a single e-certificate number in the box that says "electronic certificate or promotion code." Select your flight, and your savings will be automatically calculated. Then simply choose your seat and purchase your flight.


As a Silver Wings Lifetime member, whom do I contact if I want to book travel?
To book a domestic or international Zone Fare ticket, please contact Silver Wings at 1-800-720-1765 and press option 2 for Travel. The customer service number is staffed Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm (CST).


As a Silver Wings member, whom do I contact if I need to make a change to an existing United reservation?
If you did not book your itinerary on united.com, please contact United Reservations at 1-800-UNITED-1 (1-800-864-8331).

To change your E-Ticket online you must:

  • Be a Mileage Plus member*
  • Have a united.com password and profile**
  • Have an electronic ticket
  • Have a ticket for travel on United, United Express or Ted
  • Have a ticket purchased through United Airlines, united.com or flyted.com
  • Have your Mileage Plus number in your itinerary
  • Have an itinerary originating from the 50 U.S. states, Canada, Caribbean or Mexico or have an international itinerary purchased in US dollars

How do I book a flight on united.com using an e-certificate?
From the "Flights Search" page, enter information in the From, To, Departing, Returning and Passenger fields and choose your search by price, schedule or flexible dates. In the "My promotion code is" box, enter the electronic certificate number or promotion code, with no spaces, and then click Search.

If there are flights available that meet the criteria of the promotion, you will see a star that indicates they are promotion-eligible.

If there are no flights available that meet the criteria of the promotion, you will see a message stating, "You have entered a valid promotion, but there are no eligible flights available. Please try selecting other dates."
