What is Silver Wings Plus?Silver Wings Plus is a membership-fee-based travel program offering significant savings to those who are at least 55 years of age. While the program is no longer accepting new members, existing members can redeem travel credits through June 30, 2008. Travel must be completed by June 30, 2008.
How can I enroll into the program?
Starting July 1, 2007, Silver Wings Plus will no longer offer annual memberships. And, effective immediately, Silver Wings Plus will no longer activate, renew or extend annual memberships.
I do not have a Mileage Plus account or united.com password. How do I obtain access?
If you do not have a Mileage Plus number, register now. If you do not have a united.com password you may register a password and profile. Registration does not provide immediate access to reservations. You will have to add your Mileage Plus number to your reservation in order to view the reservation in My Itineraries. Contact your booking source to add your number. Please have your record locator and Mileage Plus number
How do I contact the Travel Center?

Can members redeem Travel Credits to purchase a ticket for someone other than themselves?
Silver Wings Plus members can redeem up to $100 in travel credits towards the purchase of a single ticket for themselves or for anyone. See redeem travel credits for more details. All Travel Credit terms and conditions apply.
What are Zone Fares and how are they used?
Only Silver Wings Plus members have access to Zone Fares to domestic and international destinations. These fares divide our destinations into zones. You can fly within your zone for as little as $191 roundtrip. Travel to the next zone for slightly more. You can use either the ZONE-FINDER or the ZONE-GRID to quickly calculate your fare.
How do I calculate the cost of the Zone Fare?
You can use either the ZONE-FINDER or the ZONE-GRID.
To use the ZONE-FINDER:
Select your DEPARTURE STATE in the left box. Select your ARRIVAL STATE in the center box. The fare will display in the right box.
To use the ZONE-GRID:
Locate your DEPARTURE STATE and ARRIVAL STATE on the map. Using the ZONE-GRID, read ACROSS the columns to find the zone, then read DOWN the rows to find your ARRIVAL STATE and price.
The combinations that do not currently support a Zone Fare (initial departure cities outside of the United States) are indicated by N/A (not available).
How do I use a Zone Fare to purchase a ticket?
Zone Fares may be booked online at united.com or through the Silver Wings Travel Center for a $15.00 servicing fee. Travel Center hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm CT.
Can a member take a companion and receive the same Zone Fare rates?
Silver Wings Plus is designed to allow our members to travel with a companion. The companion receives the same benefits and discounts as the member as long as they are traveling together on the same itinerary and paying the same Silver Wings Plus Zone Fare. There is no age requirement for the companion; therefore a child, grandchild, friend, or spouse can be the traveling companion.
How do I book Zone Fares online at united.com?
To book online, you must be a registered united.com user, and complete these simple steps:
1. Log into your Mileage Plus account from the united.com Home page
2. Enter your Mileage Plus Number, password and select 'Shop for flights' from the drop down menu on the top right hand side of the page and click 'Log in'
3. The 'Shop for flights' page is displayed. Please enter 'silverwings' in the 'Electronic certificate or promotion code' field. Please enter information in the From, To, Departing, Returning and Passenger fields and choose your search by price, schedule or flexible dates, and then click Search
4. The Search Results page is displayed. If there are Silver Wings Zone fare flights available, you will see a star that indicates they are promotion-eligible. If there are no flights available that meet the criteria of the promotion you will see a message stating, "You have entered a valid promotion, but there are no eligible flights available. Please try selecting other dates."
How do I book Zone Fares from silverwingsplus.com Site?
1. From 'Zone Fares' page click available link to check for Zone Fares.
2. The 'Shop for flights' page is displayed. The 'silverwings' promotion code is pre-populated in the 'Electronic certificate or promotion code' field. Please enter information in the From, To, Departing, Returning and Passenger fields and choose your search by price, schedule or flexible dates, and then click Search
3. 'Please Login' page is displayed. Click the 'Please login' link.
4. Mileage Plus login page is displayed. Enter your Mileage Plus Number, password and click 'Log in'. Note: If you are not registered user please select 'Need Password" and the 'Create Online Profile' page is displayed. Complete the required fields and click 'Create an online profile'.
5. The Search Results page is displayed. If there are Silver Wings Zone fare flights available, you will see a star that indicates they are promotion-eligible. If there are no flights available that meet the criteria of the promotion you will see a message stating, "You have entered a valid promotion, but there are no eligible flights available. Please try selecting other dates."
How long does it take to post bonus miles for joining Silver Wings?
Mileage Plus posts bonus miles to our member accounts on a quarterly basis. Bonus miles do not appear on your mileage summary at the same time that the original flight miles appear. Miles earned during the first quarter are posted during the second quarter, and so forth.

What is a valid password?
Your Silver Wings Plus password must be between 6 and 30 characters, and may be any combination of numbers or letters. The password is not case-sensitive. You will need your e-mail address and password to enter Members-Only areas of the Web site and for areas where you are purchasing items or updating account information.
What is a secret security question?
In the event you forget your password, you will be prompted to answer your secret security question. This is a secure way of identifying you. If you have not supplied a security question, please login and update your account information.
Is there a fee to use the Silver Wings Plus Travel Center to book travel?
There is a $15.00 servicing fee to ticket a Zone Fare or a published fare.
Is there a fee to book travel online?
There is no fee to redeem travel credits through the Silver Wings Plus website. There is no fee to purchase a published airfare at united.com. Zone Fares may be booked online at united.com or through the Silver Wings Travel Center for a $15.00 servicing fee.
